To kick-off the New Year with a BANG!, we would like to start a new weekly resource link-up ~ 

Storytimes and More Saturday Share

If you are new to the idea of a weekly link-up, it is a very simple idea. 

Each week, we will be posting a new Storytimes and More Saturday Share post on our blog by Thursday morning. 

From Thursday to Saturday at Noon EST, we invite anyone to share their thoughts and ideas with us by posting a link in the comment section. 

The link can be to your own blog post or it can be a link to someone else's that you found useful or interesting. 

Our only request is that the items shared be related to children's books or early literacy in some way. 

We welcome craft ideas, book or children's cd reviews, magnetic board and flannel board story sets, articles about different aspects of early literacy, posts about how to use puppets or props in storytimes, etc. There is really no limit to what could be shared ~ as long as it relates to children and books in some way.

We also welcome past posts from your blogs. Why reinvent the wheel if a good post has already been written?!??! 

If anyone has an idea that they want to share but you don't have a blog of your own, please consider contributing as a Guest Poster. Contact ~ K ~ at storytimeabcs@gmail.com for more information on Guest Posting.

Welcome to Our New Blog!

Hi, everyone!

Welcome to our brand new blog!

We will be a work in progress for awhile but we hope you will bear with us and visit often. Our goal is to become one of your go-to-resources for anything and everything Storytime-related. 

We started a few months ago as a Facebook group ~ which you can find at Storytimes And More On the Go ~ where we have some very informative and fun discussions about Storytimes and Outreach programming. We are an open group and invite anyone (librarians, teachers, parents, grandparents, caregivers, etc) who is interested in connecting young children with the power and magic of quality books. We share ideas about storytelling, booksharing, songs, rhymes, creative movement activities, crafts, and learning activities ~ just to name a few things. And we hope you will join us because we LOVE sharing ideas!

We are slowly branching out to include an account on Twitter as @StorytimesToGo, on Pinterest as Storytimes and More, and now right here on our very own blog!

Our first project on our blog is starting a weekly Share post ~ didn't I just say we love to share ideas? ~ that we bring together on Saturdays. Our weekly link-up of ideas will be called Storytimes and More Saturday Share or SMSShare for short. More information will be available this afternoon for our first SMSShare that is scheduled for tomorrow. So get your ideas ready!
